What does the Punjabi song "Mera Long Gawacha", most commonly sung during weddings, mean?
She lost her nose ornament, while she was on her way to meet her husband to give him meals. In case of a man, if he is a farmer, he will be working in his fields during mid day time, his wife used to bring lunch / meal by preparing it, also to give fresh food / meal to eat. One day she lost her nose ornament some where on way and she does not know where she lost it, and while going back to home, she asks her husband to watch out on her footsteps which she followed, to find her ornament and bring back if found. As they might be commuting from home to fields via same route, she is asking him to do so, while returning in evening from fields. In this song, she is describing about the beauty of her ornament.
I believe, you will clearly understand it, by going through lyrics.

Piche piche aunda meri chal vehnda ai
following me, keep a watch on the route I walked
Piche piche aunda meri chal vehnda ai
following me, keep a watch on the route I walked
Chereah valayan vekhda ai ve mera laung gawacha
O turbaned(the one wearing a turban),
keep watching while returning back (to home),
my nose ornament is lost
(some where on the way)
Nigah marda ai ve mera laung gawacha
while returning back, watch out for it on the way, my nose ornament is lost
Piche piche aunda meri chal vehnda ai
following me, keep a watch on the route I walked
Chereah valayan vekhda ai ve mera laung gawacha
O turbaned, keep watching while returning back,
my nose ornament is lost

a voice of brother-in-law
Kaahli kaahli aayi si mein tahliyan di heth di
I came here hurriedly through / under the Rosewood trees

Menu shaq penda meri naak chon uddak ke
I doubt that, by bouncing from my nose (it),
Dig paiya hona dungi cchai ve mera laung gawacha

When my nose ornament sparkled,
Pith pith taekda si Uno jag sara ve
whole world used to watch, raised on their toes
Uno jag sara veeee

Marda si jado mera laung lishkara ve
When my nose ornament sparkled,
Pith pith taekda si Uno jag sara ve
whole world used to watch, raised on their toes
Uno jag sara veeee
then the whole world, Oye
Ek uthe nahin menu sareya te shaq ve
not only a single one, but I doubt every single one
Sab lukara jakae pai ve mera laung gawacha
bacause they all might be hiding it, my nose ornament is lost
(as her nose ornament was very attractive, shinning, she is saying that now she doubts every single person, because they might have it with them, and they will not inform about it.)
Nigah marda ai ve mera laung gawacha
while returning back, watch out for it on the way, my nose ornament is lost
